Here are a few opportunities to see your taxes at work for you. Whether you are simply replacing outdated appliances or completing a home energy audit to improve your efficiency you may be eligible for tax credits or rebates.

1.    Database of State Incentives for Renewables and Efficiency (DSIRE)

2.     Energy Star offers rebates and tax credits for purchasing energy efficient products. They even have a rebate finder on their website. Simply type in your zip code and the product type you are looking for.

3.    The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) provides energy incentives for both individuals and businesses. See if your energy efficient home improvement project qualifies for a tax credit.
